That means behind and beneath appliances, inside extractor filters and oven cavities, grout lines rather than tile faces, skirting and door frames, the tops of wardrobes and kitchen units, window tracks, and inside cupboards rather than their fronts. It takes considerably longer because it is a different task, not the same task done more carefully.

There is no single interval that suits every property, and anyone quoting one has not seen yours. It depends on occupancy, whether there are pets, how much cooking is done, and how much dust the property takes in.

What matters more than a schedule is the trigger. Most deep cleans are booked around a specific event: moving in or out, after renovation or handover, before or after a period of guests, at the end of a tenancy, or after a heavy sandstorm season when fine dust has settled into everything. Between those, a lighter maintenance clean handles the day to day.

The scope is agreed before we start, because a kitchen-focused clean and a whole-property clean are different jobs at different prices. Typically it covers:

• Kitchen: oven cavity and racks, extractor hood and filter, behind and beneath appliances, cupboard interiors, splashback grout, sink and drain.
• Bathrooms: grout and silicone lines, showerhead descaling, behind the toilet base, extractor vent, mirror and glass, cabinet interiors.
• Living and bedrooms: skirting, door frames, switch plates, tops of wardrobes and units, window tracks and sills, behind furniture.
• Throughout: floors including edges and corners, vents and grilles, light fittings, and any surface routine cleaning passes over.

Clear personal items, documents and valuables from the surfaces you want cleaned, since we would rather not move them ourselves. Empty the fridge if fridge interior is in scope. Tell us in advance about any surface that needs specific handling, such as natural stone, unsealed timber or a delicate finish. If you have pets, let us know so the visit can be arranged around them.

We select products suitable for use in occupied homes, and product data sheets are available on request before the work starts.

If anyone in the property has a specific sensitivity or allergy, or you would prefer particular products avoided, tell us beforehand and we will confirm exactly what is being used. For homes with young children or pets, we can adjust both the products and the sequence so treated areas are dry and ventilated before they are back in use.

• Property size and layout. A studio and a five-bedroom villa are different jobs.
• Scope. Kitchen-only, bathrooms-only or whole property, and whether interiors of cupboards and appliances are included.
• Condition on arrival. A property cleaned regularly is a different job from one that has not had a deep clean in years, or one just handed over from construction.
• Add-ons. Sofa, carpet, curtain or mattress cleaning are separate disciplines and priced separately.
